Here at Fable Kids, we take safety seriously. We are parents, too! Please read our safety guidelines so you can understand the risks, warnings and age appropriateness of the heirlooms we offer. We endeavour to make the safest doll we can, but there are things you can do as well to ensure a safe play experience.

Even though we are Canadian based, we are also registered with the CPSC (U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission) as a small batch manufacturer.

ALL FABLE KIDS DOLLS

All of our items are hand crafted in the Okanagan Valley, located in British Columbia, Canada. They are handcrafted from various cottons, linens, and reclaimed materials. All materials used in the construction will be noted on the listing.

We only use a premium hypoallergenic poly fibre manufactured in Canada to stuff our dolls. It is only ALL NEW MATERIAL.

All items will receive an inspection by a secondary person before being packaged to minimize the risk of defects or human error. As always, it’s  still strongly recommended to thoroughly examine your dolls upon receipt before giving them to you children. If any errors are found, please contact us immediately.

Please keep all toys away from heat sources and open flames to minimize the risk of fire.

Always routinely check your toys over for any signs of structural wear or increased safety risk.

We expect all of the heirlooms in our small shop will be loved only during parent supervision at all times. Even the safest toys can lead to accidents for children. That’s why we make parent supervision mandatory for everything we craft.

SMALL PARTS

Currently we only have one item with a small part component - the 17” heirloom doll with buns. The buns are ½” felted wool buns that are hand-sewn into the dolls head as noted in their listings. These are made from 100% soft textile material. Any injury to the thread can lead to separation. Wear can also be expected and possibly lead to loose or separated buns. For this reason, these pose a choking hazard and should only be for children over three and out of the ‘mouthing’ stage. For children over three, but still prone to mouthing, rules for under three years of age will apply.

If you previously purchased a doll with buns for a child still in the mouthing phase, cut the buns off, store them out of reach, and contact us later when the buns can safely be reattached (free of charge).

LOVEYS

Additionally, our loveys are designed for young children as a comfort item to be played with under adult supervision at all times, but are not intended for a sleep. As per the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), no soft objects, toys, pillows, or loose bedding should be used in any safe sleep practice. Unsupervised, these can pose a suffocation risk.

REPAIRS

Toys that have signs of wear that effect the structural integrity of the doll, or wear that poses a safety risk, should immediately be put out of reach until they can be repaired. We have a series of videos on how to repair these items yourself, or if you have doubts, you can contact us at fablekidshandmade@gmail.com to see if your heirloom can be safely repaired or if it has to be disposed of.

If you have any further questions or concerns about your Fable Kids Handmade heirloom dolls or accessories, please send us an email at fablekidshandmade@gmail.com.
